17 - Group 2's

THANK YOU to all the judges that have loved this dog as much as we do!

THANK YOU to all his fans who have cheered and supported us through this tough year!

Personally and Professionally this has been a hard year for myself and my family and we could not have accomplished ANY of this without your support!

THANK YOU to Jackie Johnson. You are why this boy has done so well, you brought the BEST out of him!

THANK YOU to David and Heather Kaufman for your support and love of this dog!

On a final note, I was recently told that Bacon did something only one other Australian Terrier has done. He accomplished the GRAND SLAM!
He has won the AUSTRALIAN TERRIER NATIONAL SPECIALTY, Best of Breed at MONTGOMERY, Best of Breed at WESTMINSTER, Best of Breed at the AKC INVITATIONAL and a BEST IN SHOW!
Only one other Australian Terrier has done that!

Funny thing is that the dog that accomplished that feat, I bred his dam and Bacon is a relation to this dog, MBIS BISS GCH CH Kambara's Zebulon.
So very proud of ALL Team Bacon's accomplishments!

I would also like to congratulate the # 1 Australian Terrier in All-Breed: BIS RBIS GCHB CH Blue Moon Boston Pops.
Little Man as he is called is also a relation to Bacon. Little Man's dam is: CH Temora Blue Moon Pop Star AKA Miley.
Miley's dam Mikki (CH Temora Where the Magic Begins) and Bacon's dam Tata (GCH CH Temora Taint She Sweet) were littermates!

Go Bacon!

11-20-2016
This is the day my dream came true.
Bacon with Jackie and the helm have done a remarkable job over the last 2 years.

In 2015, Bacon was the #1 Australian Terrier in the Breed and All-Breed.
At the end of 2015, my husband lost his job of 35 years so showing Bacon full time was no longer an option. So we showed him here and there where I could afford it.
Thanks to Jackie and co-owners David and Heather Kaufman, Bacon, with limited showing is still a Top5 Aussie in All-Breed.

We had one goal, to get a Best in Show on a dog that has proven himself not only in the show ring, but in the whelping box as well.

Today, that goal, that dream is a reality.

Today, under Judge Sharol Candace Way, Bacon beat the other Special and then was given a Group 1 under her as well.
In the Best in Show ring, Dr Steve Keating gave Bacon BEST IN SHOW!

I am honored, humbled and thrilled to death over this win and I want to thank EVERYONE that has supported this dog and believed in him over the last 2 years!

We are not done yet, but as one person said, I can now cross winning a Best in Show off my bucket list!

Jesse James Kennel Club -
Jackie was down in KS for some shows there and today our little star - Redi (BOSS CH Temora Redi When You Are) who is owned by Judy Obrien and co-owned by me was BEST OF BREED over the current top Special. Thrilling for both Judy and Jackie and myself as Redi has been out showing as a Special for a total of about 2 months while the Special she beat has been out for 5 years. HUGE difference there and our little bitch showed her heart out and is coming home with the ribbon!
Watch out boys, there's a New Girl in Town!

07-14-2016 to 7-17-2016
Crazy weekend in Belivdere WI.

07-16-2016 Kishwaukee Kennel Club - Judge Carolyn Taylor - Best of Breed, Group 2
07-17-2016 Kishwaukee Kennel Club - Judge Mareth Kipp - Best of Breed, Group 2

Some exhibitors showed one day and then not the next. Show etiquette seemed to be out the door at this show, especially with new exhibitors showing and it seems to be a trend that is not a GOOD one. We have had majors break due to this behavior. This is not what dog shows are about and I am very saddened by it. Right now it seems to be about winning and not about why we show in the first place, to have judges evaluate our breeding stock.

With Redi's fantastic wins over this last weekend it made me sit down and think about my lines and where they have come from and what they are doing now.

First there was Aura (Truozzys Finnish Maiden) whom I received from Anne Moilanen. She was not a show dog, but I bred her once and she produced Libby (CH Temora Maid In America)
Libby did not go to any Nationals, but finished her AKC Championship in short order

Libby produced Cocoa (Temora I Should Cocoa) who was RWB for the National in 2010 & 2011 and went WB/BW at the 2012 National.
Libby also produced Viki (CH Temora Maid of Islay) who was WB/BW at the 2010 National.

Cocoa produced Tera (CH Temora Southern Comfort) who was Best Futurity Bitch, Best of Opposite in Sweeps, RWB at the 2014 National Specialty to another Temora bitch Pennie (CH Temora Almost Famous)

Viki produced Rory (GCH CH Temora American Maid) who was Best of Opposite in Sweeps at the 2013 National Specialty, 2nd in the bred-by class at the age of 6 months (not a competitive age for a National, but she held her own) and received an Award of Merit at the 2015 National Specialty and was Best of Opposite at Westminster 2016.

Rory produced Redi (BOSS CH Temora Redi When You Are) who was Best Futurity Bitch, Best of Opposite in Sweeps at the 2015 National Specialty. She then was WB/BW at the ATCA supported entry shows National weekend 2016 and finished her Championship and went into the last day as a new AKC Champion and was Best of Opposite at the National Specialty show.

I call this line, my 'Red' line and I could not be prouder of how they have done.

Other dogs from this female line that are doing well include: CH Temora When In Doubt Wear Red, RBIS-NOHS CH Temora Rhythm and Blues, CH Temora Cause & Effect, BIS CH Temora's Rhapsody In Blue ShCM, Temora Bud & Blossom (who needs just a major to finish) CH Temora Mac Eanric, CH Temora Keeping Stride UD OM1 GN GO, CH Temora Viva La Vida, CH Temora's P's New Guy In Town.

Now we have up and coming new babies from this line and I can only hope they will do as good as what has come before them.

We were off to the Badger CLuster shows this weekend in Jefferson WI.
We had a major in dogs, but it broke as of Friday. Unfortunately, this can and will happen, especially when you have consistently winning dogs.

1-27-2016 to 1-31-2016
This weekend was a difficult weekend to go to a dog show, but I did to support friends as I did not have any dogs entered. I got to watch Tera (CH Temora Southern Comfort) with Jackie win the breed 3 of the 5 days and she was beautiful in the group as well. Judy O'Brien who is her owner was beaming with pride and her happiness made my day. Tera is a Great-Great Granddaughter of my Bully.

Also in Virginia, Reggie (CH Temora Rhythm and Blues) was at the VA Terrier show where he was Best of Breed the first day! Nancy Tibbett is his owner/handler, very proud of them! Reggie is a Bully Great-Grandson.

It is all very bittersweet and I am still wandering around slightly lost without my boy.

The song is ended but the melody lingers on…

1-6-2016
We are starting up the New Year with a trip to Palm Springs CA!
Between me and Jackie we managed to get the trip paid with points from our credit cards, so how could she not go with Bacon and Wilbur in tow!
So after a night at my house with dogs letting gas loose from the cauliflower they ate for lunch, I took Jackie & Bacon to O'Hare and dropped them off. She was 2 hours early and there were NO LINES during the security check, so they were just a bit early!
Of course it would not be a road trip if the airline did not loose the luggage! Jackie almost had to be a Walmart model for the day, but they got her luggage to her before the show started. Luckily the rain managed to stop for a portion of the first day of the show. I hear it is quite 'soggy' on the polo field where the show is being held.
I will report results as I get them for the weekend!
Thursday
Best of Breed under Judge Geoff Corish and he made the cut in a very strong Terrier Group!
Friday
SEL Dog under Judge Connie Clark.
Yes, I have been asked how and why since she just put him up for the breed in Oct of last year at Montgomery AND gave him a cut in the group yesterday at the first show. It is called a dog show! You never know what is going to happen!
