Well,
had fun on Sunday
Decided to go to Indiana for one day with Mac instead of
making strudel with the family up north. Most people would say I was nuts, but
what dog show person is not!!
Mac (CH Temora Ri Diercc) was the only
aussie entered, so he won the Breed, then went on to take a Group 4!
All
the Handlers that did not go to the garden were at this show, so it was not an
easy group!
Tata (GCH CH Temora Taint She Sweet) was at the Garden State
Terrier show with Leonardo Garcini. She won the breed against 7 other aussies
(that is assuming they all showed of course) and made the cut in the group!
Great
day and even though it was a long drive and I forgot the time zone change when
heading out, I now have by memory what I will stay to a sheriff when I get stopped
for speeding!
Now we wait for tomorrow as Westminster is on as of today and
the terriers show tomorrow and Tata is entered!
Wish her luck!
From
Leslie & Libby (AKC/UKC CH ALCH Temora Maid in America RN RL1 URO1):
On
Sunday, 2/12, Libby and I earned our Rally Level 1 Excellent (RL1X) in APDT Rally
under judges Stephanie Capkovic, Joan Klingler, and Kim Pike. To earn this, you
need 10 additional qualifying scores after earning the Rally Level 1 title. All
her scores were over 200, so she also receives an Award of Merit certificate.
And we get a big purple and lavender rosette! Three trials make for a very long
day, but she did a wonderful job.

Tata (GCH CH Temora Taint She Sweet) is down at the GA shows
with Leonardo Garcini.
Thursday:Best of Opposite
Friday: Best of Opposite
Saturday:
Best of Breed!
Sunday: Best of Breed!
I was in LaCrosse WI having dinner
with Jim, Nicole, Jeff and Opa & Oma to celebrate Nicole's birthday. Wonderful
dinner and I enjoyed spending some 'quiet' time with the husband. That was until
the parties started as there was a couple tournaments going on and the different
teams were staying at the same hotel as us!! High School kids high on wins means
no sleep for the old folks! :)
Also
in the news:
From Leslie & Libby (AKC/UKC CH ALCH Temora Maid in America
RN RL1 URO1):
Libby not only qualified, but placed in Friday night's Teacup
agility trial at Bella Vista Training Center in Lewisberry, PA. We competed under
judge Wendy Fogarty to earn our first leg in Standard with a first place and our
first two legs in Intermediate level Games with a first and a third. I was thrilled
with what she did and it felt like we're finally becoming a team. Big thanks to
our teachers Pat and Stuart for all their help!
Congrats to both of you!!
From
Allison & Tilda( Temora Waltzing Matilda LaRoo OA OAJ): (Tilda is Libby's
daughter)
We were at another agility trial yesterday. We didn't qualify in
either run. In Excellent A Standard we had 2 refusals, 1 wrong course, and 1 fault.
The fault was that Tilda hit the triple bar jump's bar/bars. The refusal was that
she didn't go in the tunnel the first time. That could have been my fault, I'm
not sure. I did something I didn't want to do, so I don't know if that is why
or if she just decided not to do it. But the wrong course was for sure my fault
:) I went to the wrong obstacle. And the second refusal was that she went by the
weave poles the first time. Our time was 69.12 out of 72 sec. It actually wasn't
too bad of a run.
In
Excellent A Jumpers w/ Weaves we had a very nice run!! Just had two knocked jump
bars though. We made good time too: 37.68 out of 51 sec!
Even though you
did not qualify, it sounds like you are having fun and that counts too!
Congrats
on your times Allison & Tilda, that second run was pretty fast!

Roya was Winners bitch for her first point
Carmeen was
Reserve Winners Bitch
Also on the Homefront, Tilda (Temora Waltzing
Matilda LaRoo NA NAJ)was in an agility trial with her young owner Allison.
This is what she had to say:
Yesterday
we were at an agility trial. We ran Excellent A STD first. We NQ'd; Tilda knocked
the bar/bars on the triple bar jump, missed a jump, and did a fly off on the teeter.
Our time was 70.07 out of 75 seconds.
In
Open Jumpers w/ Weaves we qualified, got first place, and got our OAJ title!!
Our time was 40.35 out of 45 seconds.
Congratulations
Allison & Tilda!!

Note
in Regards to the National in May/June:
To
ALL Aussie Lovers:
As the Hospitality Co-Chair and a member of the Gateway Terrier Association, I
hope to see you and your Aussies at the Rally trial being held Thursday, May 31,
2012. Very nice prizes are being offered, including a really special prize, described
below, for novices.
HIGHEST
SCORING AUSTRALIAN TERRIER IN RALLY NOVICE A or B
-
entry fees paid for ALL entries for that dog during the week in (obedience/rally,
earthdog, coursing, & conformation) - offered by Heather Rife DVM
For
those of you attending the National, if you have not tried Rally before, I hope
that you will consider learning about it so that you can join us in Rally. Even
if your dog has a Rally Novice title, as long as your dog doesn't have an Advanced
leg, you can enter that dog in Novice B. First- through fourth-place rosettes
will be awarded to dogs placing in the Novice classes, and a green qualifying
rosette (not a flat ribbon) will be awarded to all Aussies that obtain a qualifying
score in any Rally class. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have all Aussies in the
placements? That would be a great photo opportunity.
Rally is very welcoming and laid back compared to Obedience. Also, scoring is
not as rigorous as that in Obedience. Novice is performed on a loose leash, and
you can talk to your dog as much as you want, giving praise and encouragement.
Emphasis is on fun and excitement for the dog and handler. The dog and handler
complete a course of numbered stations with the dog at heel, on the handler's
left side. A course map is available for you to study prior to judging. Handlers
walk the course without their dog prior to the judging. If you can sit and down
your dog for a brief period of time, chances are you can be successful in Rally.
Multiple verbal commands and/or signals, using one or both arms and hands, are
allowed. The qualifying rate is high. If your dog does not have a reliable sit
and down, consider starting training now so that you can join us in Rally.
I started taking a weekly class in October. We went to a show-n-go the Sunday
before our first trial and at our first event, Toni earned two qualifying scores.
Taking classes was an easy way for me to learn the signs and how to perform them;
however, classes are not necessary. Consider going to watch a Rally trial or a
show-n-go. Join us at the National, try something new and HAVE FUN!
